Tilt or buttons? How to pick controls in mobile racers
Every mobile racer asks the same question in its settings menu, and most people just pick whatever the default is. That is a mistake, because the right choice depends on the game and on you.
Tilt controls feel immersive and are great for relaxed arcade racing like Neon Drift Circuit. Your whole phone becomes the wheel, and it is genuinely fun. The downside is precision, especially in tight corners or when you need micro-adjustments.
Buttons trade some fun for control. For any game where lap times matter or drifting needs to be exact, I switch to buttons and my results improve immediately. Your thumbs know exactly what they did.
My honest advice: play a few races with each. Your instinct after twenty minutes is usually right. And do not be afraid to switch schemes for different tracks within the same game.
